Alcohol Counsellor
Weekly sessions on a Tuesday - please see your GP for a referral to this service.
Asthma / Diabetes / Heart Disease / Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
The doctors and nurses work together for patients to provide care for patients with chronic disease. This includes regular annual check-ups.
Blood Tests
Shela our Healthcare Assistant offers blood testing clinics at the practice every day. However, there are a number of local clinics where you can walk in without an appointment to have your blood test. Reception can provide you with th details for this walk-in service.
Cervical Smears
Cervical smears are offered every three years to all women aged 25-49 years, and every 5 years for those aged 50-64 years. Please book an appointment with our Practice Nurses.
Child Health and Immunisations
Our Practice Nurses are able to offer immunisation clinics twice a week for all childhood immunisations:-
Mondays 14.00 - 17.00
Tuesdays 14.00 - 17.00
We have a Health Visitor at the surgery fortnightly, on a Tuesday, to weigh children and give health advice. Please phone to book an appointment. Should you need to speak to the Health Visitor at any other time, please call the Health Visiting Team on 020 7530 2980.
This clinic also has a doctor present for six week baby checks. Please ensure that you bring the baby's red book with you to all clinics. Immunisations cannot be given without the red book.
Clinical Psychologist and Therapist
There are a number of psychologists and therapists who hold regular clinics at the practice. They are able to help with common problems such as anxiety, depression, phobias and insomia. Referral is via your GP or practice nurse. You can also join free half day workshops (click here for details).
Interpreters
We can arrange for an interpreter to be present for your GP or nurse appointment for for patients whose first language is not English. Please let us know if you need this service when booking an appointment.
Measure Your Own Blood Pressure
We have a machine in reception that you are welcome to pop in and use anytime to measure your own blood pressure. It is very easy to use. It will tell you if your blood pressure is abnormal. It can also check your weight and can ask you some health screening questions.
Minor Aliments Scheme
Local pharmacies in Islington run a minor ailment scheme whereby you can see your
pharmacist for treatment of common, minor conditions such as coughs and colds, hayfever and diarrhoea. This is an excellent way to access expert healthcare rapidly. For more information, speak to our receptionists or click here.
Smoking Cessation Clinics
Please make an appointment to see one of our smoking cessation advisors (Ann or Fleur) for help with giving up smoking. Clinics are generally held on a Thursday morning, but appointments can be made throughout the week if this is not a convenient time for you. Alternatively you can see your local pharmacist, or call Quitline on 0800 093 90 30.
Sexual Health
The doctors and nurses provide a wide range of sexual health advice and screening which includes: -
Providing contraception, including fitting of coils and implants
Free condoms (ask at reception)
Sexual health screening and treatment including HIV and Chlamydia testing
If you need emergency contraception, please call the surgery and we can arrange to provide this.
